ABOUT PASS PLUS

Pass plus is an established training course aimed at new drivers. It was designed by the driving standards agency (DSA) with the help of insurers and the driving instruction industry.

Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years after passing their test due to a lack of experience.

Pass plus builds on your skills and knowledge, improving your anticipation and hazard perception. At Princes we believe that the motorway element of pass plus is an absolute must for any new driver. Preparing a young person to cope with the M27 and M3 is something we can only do once a pupil has passed their test.

It is not a pleasant thought to think of a pupil having their first motorway experience on their own.

INSURANCE SAVINGS

After you've completed a Pass Plus course partcipating insurance companies will give you up to a years no claims  bonus free of charge. This can save you a substantial amount of money. (One of our former pupils saved £450 on his first insurance policy).

The  course is aimed at developing a pupils confidence once the driving test is passed. It is a course and not another test and is conducted in a friendly relaxed manner.

Aims of the course.

  • Develop their existing skills.
  • Further develop anticipation skills, plan for and deal with hazards safely.
  • Understand how to reduce their risk of having a crash.
  • mantain a courteous and considerate attitude to other road users.
  • if a new driver feels nervous driving on their own, PASS PLUS can also help boost their confidence.
  • MOTORWAY TUITION being part of the course it really helps in the preparation for todays roads. Is it really a good thing for somebody to have their first motorway experience on their own.

The discounts achieved will often easily cover the price of the course (£150 if you have learnt with Princes ) normally £175,  and you get your motorway tuition thrown in.

Drivers who complete the course qualify for huge insurance discounts from participating insurace companies. The current list of participating companies can be found at www.passplus.org.uk or phone 0115 901 2633.
